It can be tricky when a friend or family member has a birthday in January, as they likely received all of the gifts they wanted for Christmas. It’s even worse if they just don’t have any clue about what they want. However, there are some ideas you may not have thought of that are particularly appropriate given the time of year.
For starters, you could consider helping them keep warm during this chilly month by investing in some designer knitwear for them. The British weather is usually miserable for most of January and February, so giving them a jumper that not only keeps them warm but helps them look stylish is especially appropriate.
What’s more, if they’ve got a sweet tooth, you could make them up a special hot chocolate hamper full of goodies. This will help them keep extra snug during those cold winter nights. Add in some yummy treats, like real blocks of chocolate they can melt into their drink, or marshmallows with a tin of squirty cream! You could even head to your local coffee shop to buy some sugary swizzle sticks as an extra-special touch. It’s all about using your imagination. If your loved one has a taste for spice, why not go in the opposite direction and get them a spicy basket of Mexican food-makings to get their blood running hot?!
Another great gift to give someone during the winter months is a snuggly bear/stuffed animal filled with wheat that you can heat in the microwave. This is a great alternative to a hot water bottle, as it has the added goodness of being cuddly too! You could go one step further and buy your loved one slippers that also can be heated in the microwave, ensuring they will be snuggly all over.
These are just some of the gifts you could bestow upon that special someone during January; with a little imagination, you could probably think of many more!
